WHAT IS THE SCHROTH METHOD?

Picture
Picture

THE SCHROTH METHOD IS SUPPORTED BY CURRENT RESEARCH AND RECOMMENDED BY SOSORT
(Society of Scoliosis Orthopedic and Rehabilitation Treatment)

RESEARCH STUDIES
The Schroth Method is a specific form of physical therapy for treating scoliosis and other spinal conditions. Individualized instruction is given to help clients learn to self correct their unique curves. This is essential especially in treating scoliosis to avoid worsening the condition. The goal is to teach individuals to achieve their best posture from the inside out. Emphasis is placed on opening collapsed areas of the trunk and building postural muscle endurance in the corrected position.

When instructed by a certified practitioner it is safe and is the BEST way to treat scoliosis with exercise. It is appropriate in all stages and for all ages. It is also applicable to other posture problems like kyphosis, flat back and age related changes.

"I was diagnosed with Scoliosis at the age of 14. During my adolescent years I never really had any pain. It wasn’t until I got older that I started to have problems. I tried many forms of treatment, but none of them seemed to work for very long. I knew that the curve of my spine at my age was not going to change much, but I was wanting to find something to relieve the pain. It wasn’t until I found Clay Scoliosis Clinic  that I started to learn how to incorporate specific exercises, stretching techniques, and breathing methods to help alleviate most of the pain that I had been experiencing for many years. What’s really unique about this type of spinal therapy is that it’s specific to the patient’s individual curve. What really excites me about my results is not only that the pain had subsided, but I can also see that my posture is improving! I highly recommend Clay Scoliosis Clinic to anyone that has Scoliosis! "

Scoliosis began to influence my life in 2013.  The condition was not diagnosed when I was a child and I was fortunate to not suffer any symptoms early in my lifetime.  From 2013 to 2016 the problems caused by this spinal condition began to present themselves in daily life: constant back pain, poor posture, difficulty walking, and balance issues.  My sessions with began in November of 2018, and almost immediately, I noticed a considerable reduction in daily back pain, improved posture, and a noticeable increase in my general endurance.  A detailed at-home exercise program was implemented as well to supplement our sessions. On a scale of 1 – 10, my back pain was at a level of 8 to 9 when I began sessions with in November. After just a few sessions, my overall pain level decreased substantially to 0 (no pain) or 1 (very slight pain)! I am amazed at my new ability to manage my scoliosis symptoms—with Rachel’s help!"
